Whether you're hosting a birthday party, a postseason gathering, or just want to enjoy a fun-filled event, the following checklist will guide you through the essentials you need to make your baseball theme party a grand slam!
Invitations
Start off on the right foot by sending out creative baseball-themed invitations. You can design them to resemble baseball tickets or jerseys, complete with your guest's name and a catchy slogan like "Join us for a Swingin' Good Time!" Don't forget to include all the essential details such as the date, time, venue, and any special instructions.
Venue Decorations
Transform your party space into a baseball paradise with the perfect decorations. Use pennants, balloons, and banners in team colors to create a festive atmosphere. You can even hang baseball jerseys or posters of famous players on the walls, and set up small baseball-themed centerpieces on tables.
Tableware and Linens
Choose tableware that matches your baseball theme. Opt for plates, cups, and napkins featuring baseball prints, team logos, or the iconic red stitching of a baseball. Consider using table linens in team colors or checkered patterns to enhance the overall look. Don't forget to provide utensils and serving dishes that are easy to handle while enjoying tasty ballpark-inspired treats.
Dress Code
Encourage your guests to come dressed in their favorite baseball attire, whether it's team jerseys, caps, or even umpire outfits. It adds a touch of authenticity and gets everyone in the spirit of the game.
Entertainment and Games
Engage your guests with baseball-themed entertainment and games. Set up a mini batting cage or a pitching booth for some friendly competition. Create a backyard baseball diamond or organize a wiffle ball game for guests to enjoy!
Concession Stand
No baseball game is complete without snacks! Create a concession stand where guests can indulge in classic ballpark favorites like hot dogs, nachos, popcorn, and peanuts. Serve refreshing drinks in baseball-themed cups, and don't forget to offer a selection of sweet treats like cotton candy or Cracker Jacks. Enhance the experience by providing personalized baseball-themed goody bags or mini baseballs as party favors!
Music and Ambiance
Create a playlist of upbeat songs related to baseball, such as "Take Me Out to the Ballgame" or popular sports anthems. Consider setting up a projector to show highlights from famous baseball games or classic baseball movies in the background. This will add an extra layer of excitement and keep guests engaged throughout the party!
By following these essential tips, you're sure to hit a home run with your baseball theme party. So, gather your team, grab your gloves, and get ready for an unforgettable celebration that will have your guests cheering, "Play ball!"
Now, go ahead and knock it out of the park with your baseball theme party planning!

So gather the family, grab some popcorn, and let these films transport you to a world where dreams are within reach and the crack of a bat brings pure joy.
Mike Trout's best friend and Jess Trout's brother, Aaron Cox, was lost to suicide in August of 2018. Since that tragic day, the Trouts have learned that struggles with suicide and mental health are far too common amongst all communities. They have dedicated themselves to spreading awareness by partnering with the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) to help the many Americans who may feel alone in their struggles. The stigmas attached to mental health may cause many of these people to suffer in silence, which can be debilitating and even deadly. From participating in "Out of the Darkness" walks hosted by the New Jersey chapter of AFSP, and most recently a suicide awareness event and walk at Weatherford College in Texas, the Trout's continue to fan the flame of advocacy and awareness in the hopes that other families won't have to experience the pain of losing a loved one in this way.
In 2020, Mike and Jess collaborated with custom sports apparel brand, dropperseatpost, to create a special piece of artwork with founder and artist, Rachel Luzi, and her business partner, Jalynne Crawford. The main focus of the artwork was the semicolon symbolizing a punctuation mark in literature where the author could have ended a sentence, but decided to continue the sentence instead. The design is meant to empower those who are struggling to know it's okay not to be okay, to seek help and to know that their "game isn't over yet!"
After the 2020 “Your game isn’t over yet;” launch, the Trouts discovered that their collaboration sparked great conversations around the topic of suicide and mental health. From strangers approaching them to share their story, often for the very first time, to teammates, coaches, friends, and so many others eager to talk about their own struggles or experiences with loved ones surrounding the topic. It was eye-opening, and they realized that they needed to continue to spark the conversation around suicide and mental health, which is often avoided due to the stigma surrounding them.
So with that, this year we decided to re-launch the collaboration with new, updated artwork to continue to raise awareness & spark the conversation around suicide and mental health issues. We added the "home plate" around the original artwork and filled it with the names of relationships to represent the people who are "missing" from our homes and hearts because of suicide. It is also a reminder to those struggling with thoughts of suicide that there are numerous resources available to them, and that people in their community and home are there to provide support and help in any way they can.
100% of profits from each “Your Game Isn't Over Yet;” product will go to the AFSP, who continues to fund scientific research, educate the public and advocate for public policies about mental health and suicide prevention.
"dropperseatpost, AFSP, Mike & I are so excited to yet again launch this passion project of ours we've been working so hard on. Your support is appreciated more than you will ever know and we hope and pray this collaboration continues to touch the lives of even just one precious soul and alters the course of their life for the better."
You are loved, you're never alone... and your game isn't over yet;
Mike & Jess Trout

It’s that time of year when MLB players' families and fans alike head to the MLB All-Star Game! Every year it is in a new location and this year it will be held in Seattle, Washington!
]]>dropperseatpost’s Tourist’s Guide to Seattle
Attention fans heading to Seattle!
It’s that time of year when MLB players' families and fans alike head to the MLB All-Star Game! Every year it is in a new location and this year it will be held in Seattle, Washington!
“This is an event that all of us at dropperseatpost really look forward to being a part of,” says Rachel Luzi, founder, illustrator and co-designer of dropperseatpost. “It’s a time to get creative and release an exclusive collection featuring new artwork that reflects the city where the All-Star game will take place.”
The dropperseatpost team had a lot of fun creating the MLB All-Star collection this year! Come with us as we show you our newly released artwork and take you on a mini tour of Seattle including some spots you will NOT want to miss. There is so much more to see beyond the All-Star Game itself!
Let’s start in Fremont, WA. This bohemian neighborhood is located on the canal about 10-15 minutes north of Downtown Seattle. Complete with bars, restaurants, coffee shops, parks, art and…the Fremont Troll!
Did you know?
The Fremont Troll is the unofficial mascot of Seattle’s eclectic neighborhood of Fremont. The Troll was sculpted by artists Steve Badanes, Will Martin, Donna Walter, and Ross Whitehead who joined together and won a competition sponsored by the Fremont Arts Council and was decided by public vote at the Fremont Fair in 1990. The massive sculpture towers eighteen feet tall and weighs 13,000 pounds and has become an iconic symbol that both locals and tourists alike flock to in Seattle to view and take photos with.
Fremont Troll: North 36th Street, Troll Ave N, Seattle, WA 98103
Fun Fact:
Steve Badanes (one of The Troll’s artists) is married to Seattle based artist, Linda Beaumont, who creates paintings, sculptures and large scale installations for public spaces. Her art includes The Tempest 1998-1999 which happens to be located at T-Mobile Park! When at the All-Star Game be sure to venture to the home plate gate and concourse to view her majestic chandelier made of 1,500 translucent baseball bats.
T-Mobile Park: 1250 1st Ave S, Seattle, WA 98134
Next up…
Travel down south from Fremont into the heart of Downtown Seattle and check out The Gum Wall located in Post Alley under Pike Place. This is something you have got to see!
Did you know?
This 50 foot long and 15 feet high gum wall is one of Seattle’s top tourist draws while also being, perhaps, Seattle’s grossest attraction. There were early attempts to clean up the wall and remove the gum only for more gum to be plastered across the wall. Therefore, in 1999, The Gum Wall was declared an official Seattle attraction. When visiting this colorful, yet disgusting, attraction be sure to buy some gum, chew it and stick it right on to The Gum Wall!
The Gum Wall: 1428 Post Alley, Seattle, WA 98101
AND FINALLY…
After photos with the Fremont Troll and sticking your gum on the famous Gum Wall, step back and admire the beautiful cityscape of Seattle. This skyline includes the Space Needle standing at 605 feet tall being one of the most photographed structures around the world!
Hamilton Viewpoint Park: 1120 California Way SW, Seattle, WA 98116
We hope you enjoyed dropperseatpost’s tourist’s guide to Seattle and learning about how we came up with designs for the 2023 All-Star collection. Be sure to tag @tinyturnip in photos of you and your family out and about in Seattle! Check out our ASG Collection Here!

September is Pediatric Cancer Awareness Month, and this year dropperseatpost is proud to be partnering with BDF and Major League Baseball players and their families across the league, led by the Burnes and the Haders, to raise funds and awareness for BDFs mission to best POSITION each “Baller” (what BDF calls patients in its program) to WIN his or her fight with cancer. The Crawford family, their team and many families across the league will join in this collaboration to help these families be in a Position to Win.
The “Position to Win” design was created by dropperseatpost’s owners, Rachel Luzi and Jalynne Crawford. The design features a baseball field surrounded by a yellow ribbon for pediatric cancer awareness. In baseball, there are 9 positions on the field, and support from each position is critical for winning the game. “Family” surrounds home plate - the most important spot on the field. Each remaining position is held by one of eight supporting ideas, Faith, Hope, Courage, Fans, Strength, Support and Believe. The overall design symbolizes that when a “Baller” takes the field, it's up to us to give them the best position to win the fight.
Pediatric Cancer is a killer that does not discriminate. It affects children regardless of their age, gender, race or socioeconomic class.
You can help by sharing this article with friends and relatives, following us and sharing on Instagram and Twitter, donating to BDF directly through our product pages, or purchasing items from the “Position to Win” Collection on TinyTurnip.com. 100% of profits from the sale of items in the “Position to Win” collection will be donated to The Baller Dream Foundation
Throughout September, dropperseatpost will also be auctioning one-of-a-kind, autographed memorabilia generously donated by several MLB players and their families - with 100% of proceeds going directly to The Baller Dream Foundation. You can find all items currently available for auction here: https://dropperseatpost.com/collections/position-to-win-auction
Together we can make a difference, bring smiles to these brave children and their families, and be in a position to win the fight against pediatric cancer.
Notes from the Families:
“The Burnes Family is honored to partner with the Baller Dream Foundation during pediatric cancer awareness month by launching a collaboration with dropperseatpost. As we became parents earlier this year, we couldn’t imagine what these families affected by pediatric cancer are going through on a daily basis. We hope that this collaboration provides more fundraising efforts to help find a cure for pediatric cancer and a glimmer of hope for all the patients that are fighting this horrible disease. We ask that you join us in the effort and stand with all the families to find a cure.” - Corbin & Brooke Burnes
“The Hader family is truly honored and blessed to be able to be apart of raising awareness for pediatric cancer by partnering with dropperseatpost and launching t shirts to raise money for the Baller Dream Foundation. We can’t even imagine what these families and sweet children have to go through day in and day out. We hope this collaboration helps raise more awareness and efforts into finding a cure for this horrible disease and these beautiful children no longer have to suffer. We ask you all to join us and the Burnes’ family in helping us raise awareness and find a cure for pediatric cancer.” - Josh & Maria Hader
After 10 years attending MLB games, I’ve learned a thing or two about what to have on-hand. Most of the changes I’ve made have to do with the fact that I now have four kids, but they also reflect my years of experience since I first started attending Brandon’s MLB games in 2011.
I’m proud to say that I now have this down to a science, and to kick off the 2022 season, I want to share with you what I bring to every MLB game with my kiddos.
20 Things to Bring to MLB Baseball Games for Kids
Whether you are attending your child's first baseball game, or you aren’t sure exactly what you’ll need in the stadium with a toddler, here’s the ultimate list of what to bring to a baseball game with kids. Based on the specific circumstance, you may decide you don’t need all of the items on the list for every game, so use it as a guide and at the very least, review it every time you’re about to head to the stadium.
MLB stadiums have strict bag policies, and most stadiums require you to carry clear bags only. Before packing anything, make sure you start by putting it in the right bag.
Try this clear stadium backpack or this clear crossbody bag for something that meets all stadium requirements and looks great.
Going to a baseball game with kids is all about having fun and showing off your team spirit! When planning what to bring to an MLB game with kids, your team's branded gear should be one of the first things you have ready.
We try to buy our support gear ahead of time, usually by one week, so that we know we’ll be game-day ready.
When it comes to team gear, you have loads of options. You could opt for a branded baseball T-shirt of your favorite player, a complete commemorative game jacket, or you could wear something fun like a tie-dye baseball T-shirt.
You never know when your kids might run into their favorite player! Don’t forget to bring a suitable pen for baseball autographs and a sharpie for jersey and photograph autographs. An autograph will make your child’s day, and you don’t want to miss the opportunity when it arrives.
My kids are always hoping to catch a foul ball. For the kids, this is a highlight of any baseball game. Even though we’ve only caught one ball in 11 seasons, we still love to try every game! So, when planning what to bring to a baseball game with kids, don’t forget your baseball glove.
No baseball game with kids would be complete without plenty of snacks. Be prepared and bring your their favorite snacks in case the stadium doesn't sell them. We ALWAYS bring a bag of Dum Dums because they double up as a wonderful 20-minute calming activity for the kids.
Although we love ballpark food, it’s also not known to be the healthiest food out there. If you want to maintain healthy eating habits with your kids, think about bringing along a few healthy snacks, too.
Many stadiums are transitioning to cashless payments, so it’s always a good idea to bring along payment options other than cash. You’ll need this to buy things like a souvenir hat, a baseball for autographs, or a classic stadium snack to share.
Never forget baby wipes when planning what to bring to a baseball game with kids. Your hands will get super sticky from cotton candy, lemonade, and all the other fun game-day treats. Plus, antibacterial wipes are also great for wiping down the seats before you settle in.
You’ll be glad to have a change of clothes for your kids in case of any accidents. Believe me, accidents do happen!
On the topic of accidents, don’t forget to bring some bandaids to an MLB game. They hardly take up any space and will make everything better when you need one.
If you’re going to a baseball game with kids, remember that the weather can change on a dime. Be prepared for your kids to get hot and cold throughout the game. Don’t forget to bring jackets for your kids - you will be thankful to have the layers! And if you see rain in the forecast, grab a suitable rain jacket.
When taking your kids to their first baseball game, you’ll be very busy snapping pictures and uploading social media posts. The last thing you want is for your phone to drain before the game is over.
To top it off, most stadiums don’t have the best wifi. You usually have to rely on cellular data, which can be a total battery killer.
Bringing a reliable power bank to your baseball game can be an absolute lifesaver.
Trust me, you don’t want to spend the day in a row of exposed, sunny seats without quality sunscreen to protect your little ones. When planning what to bring to a baseball game, this is essential. Even if the forecast isn’t looking particularly sunny, having sunscreen on-hand is always a good idea.
You can buy water at the stadium, but it’s always best to come prepared. You will want to have a big bottle of water to stay hydrated during any baseball game - especially for those hot afternoon games. Bringing along a big, reusable water bottle is an eco-friendly and convenient option.
An action-packed game day should offer plenty of fun for your kids. However, game days can be long for little ones, so being prepared with back-up entertainment (like portable games, toys, or coloring books) is always a good idea. This is especially important for restless toddlers who may not have the attention span you would hope for at their first baseball game.
Sure, you will probably just use your phone to capture the special memories of a fun day at the major league stadium. However, if you are serious about getting a high-quality photo or video, don’t forget your camera. Just be aware that stadiums restrict the size of camera lenses, so check your stadium’s guidelines when bringing a camera.
No matter what gadget you use to snap your photos, don’t forget to bring a retractable selfie stick or a tripod to make sure those special family moments last forever.
Some stadiums can get very loud. If you’re taking a baby or toddler to their first baseball game, you may want to bring along a pair of noise-canceling headphones to keep their little ears and hearing protected.
This might not be an essential item to bring to every baseball game, but you won’t want to be caught without it in case the mosquitos start to bite. If you’re visiting an outdoor stadium in summer, prepare yourself with bug repellant. Just remember that most stadiums don’t allow aerosol cans.
If you think there’s even a chance of rain, come to the baseball game prepared for it. I love these rain ponchos, as they are so light and easy to carry in your game-day bag, and you can just slip them over any clothes you’re wearing. Clear rain ponchos also let you still show off your team spirit while being protected from the rain.
Most MLB stadiums are open air, so prepare to face the elements when you attend a game. A hat is important for sun protection during long game days. Besides, your kids will probably want to wear their favorite team's baseball cap anyway!
Sunglasses can also make a big difference when watching a game. Squinting into the bright sun in order to see a small white ball is not fun for anyone.
Finally, you can’t forget your tickets! Many MLB stadiums are transitioning to digital-only tickets, so make sure you have a screenshot of your tickets readily available on your phone.
When you’ve got a full bag of baseball game-day items and you’re trying to keep an eye on your excited kids, you’ll be grateful that you don’t have to dig through your bag or scroll through emails to find your tickets.
Top Tips for Going to a Baseball Game With Kids
Knowing what to bring to an MLB baseball game with kids is important, but there’s more to keep in mind when attending game day with your little ones in tow. Here are a few of my favorite tips for going to a baseball game with your kids.
Choose Child-Friendly Seats
Even with the excitement of a baseball game going on, young kids will have a hard time sitting still for the whole game. Many MLB stadiums have special children's park tickets available that offer plenty of fun activities for your kids and a chance for you all to take a break between innings.
Standard seat tickets are available for kids over the age of four. I recommend aisle or first-row seats to give your busy little ones the extra leg room to jump up and down, and to have an easy run to the bathroom whenever needed.
Embrace Ballpark Food
Ballpark food is an essential part of the game-day experience. Yes, I advise bringing your own snacks too, but come to a baseball game hungry! When your kids think about their first baseball game, the hotdogs, pretzels, nachos, and cotton candy might be some of their favorite memories.
Give Your Kids a Play-By-Play
Your kids will have a lot more fun at their first baseball game if they know what’s going on - and there’s a lot that goes on during baseball games!
Explain the game to your children as it happens. Let them know who’s pitching, who’s batting, and point out the videos on the jumbotron. Explain things like fly balls and foul balls, show them how the scoreboard works, and occasionally ask them for the score. This will help keep them engaged throughout the day.
Explore the Ballpark
The baseball game may be the main event, but it’s only part of the entire game-day experience. Many MLB stadiums are jam-packed with fun kids' activities. You might be able to meet your team's mascot, find children's playgrounds, snap a shot at a photo booth, or find an open space for a quick game of catch.
Check the Forecast
This may seem obvious, but the last thing you want is to arrive at an open-air stadium unprepared for the weather. Check the forecast a day or two in advance, and make sure to dress accordingly. If you and your kids are comfortable, the baseball game will be infinitely more enjoyable.
Know What Not to Bring
We’ve covered what to bring to an MLB baseball game with your kids, but you also need to make sure you don’t bring any prohibited items. These could be confiscated when entering the stadium, which could result in an unhappy start to game day.
Some common items that are usually prohibited at MLB stadium games include:
Summary
Taking your children to their first major league baseball game is a memory you will all treasure for a lifetime. Knowing what to bring to a baseball game with kids and being properly prepared will make the game day so much more enjoyable for everyone involved.
After all, going to a baseball game is all about having fun and soaking up all the sights, smells, sounds, and actions that happen at a ballpark. Prepare yourself with this list of what to bring to a baseball game with kids, and your day might just become one of your favorite family memories.
]]>Our mission is to create a lifelong love of sports. Like all of you, we were heartbroken to witness the events in Ukraine over the last two weeks. We needed to do something to help, so we decided to use our resources to create a brand new design collection solely in support of the people of Ukraine, and, as always, we will donate 100% of profits from this collection to help support a worthy cause - in this case The Voices of Children Charitable Foundation.
]]>dropperseatpost chose this charity specifically because they use the arts to help children overcome psychological damage from traumatic military conflicts. Voices of Children is especially geared toward helping children who find it difficult to describe in words their emotions, feelings, fears. For many of us, art is an amazing outlet to work through the emotions born from trauma, and we know first-hand how beneficial the arts can be in healing the heart and soul of children.
Designed by Rachel Luzi, this design collection features a heart in the colors of the Ukrainian flag, being held up and supported by people of all nations. In the middle of the heart we have drawn in the words “Slava Ukraini” which translates to “Glory to Ukraine,” a slogan for Ukrainian solidarity. Our design simultaneously conveys a show of support for the Ukrainian people, awareness of this cause, and love for the children of Ukraine.
The tragic events in Ukraine offer the space for the world to come together to support Ukrainian citizens in their struggles, honor their loved one’s memories, and spread awareness in their names. The money we raise will allow The Voices of Children Charitable Foundation to contribute to the healthy development of children, and in turn all of Ukrainian society, over the coming years.
Thank you for helping us support this worthy cause.
Slava Ukraini!

Pediatric cancer has always tugged at the hearts of the Crawford family. This cause has touched us personally with close family and friends. Our angels help us continue to fight to help prevent other families going through hardships that come with pediatric cancer.
Over the years we have been inspired by the Posey family and all their efforts with pediatric cancer through their BP28 charity. As well as the McCutchen family who regularly visit cancer patients and love on the children in the hospitals. We have also been able to donate personal funds on a yearly basis as well as through our Brandon Crawford Baseball Camp.
The McCutchen's feel truly blessed to be a part of something that raises awareness for pediatric cancer. "It is unfathomable what these children and their families have to go through, the battle they get up every day and fight. To be even the smallest bit of help in the finding of a cure, is an absolute honor. We have been drawn to this cause and it is so very dear to our hearts. As parents with kids of our own, we will do anything we can to help the fight so that these beautiful children will suffer no more."
Over the years, dropperseatpost has created characters and artwork for children battling cancer, including children of Major League Baseball players. Founder and artist, Rachel Luzi and family have several dear friends who’s children were lost to cancer. “Using my gift to be able to create artwork and characters for these children and their families, has been a tangible way to show love and impact their lives while getting other’s involved in showing support as well.”
"Mighty Miles" and "Team Adri" were a couple of those collaborations, that allowed MLB players across the leagues to show support to the families of teamates during their battle. Miles was lost to cancer in 2018 and his family has since started their foundation Smiles 4 Miles. After five years, Adri relapsed in June 2020, and is again fighting a brave battle against leukemia.
The idea behind the “Catch A Cure" artwork was envisioned by partners, Jalynne Crawford and Rachel Luzi. Since the color for pediatric cancer is gold, Jalynne thought of a Gold Glove catching a ball, with the slogan "Catch a Cure." Rachel drew it up and the details include two gold ribbons and nine words that describe these brave children with “hero" in the center. Nine words were chosen because Sept is the the 9th month of the year, there are nine players on the baseball field and nine innings in a game.
100% of Profits from the sale of items in the “Catch A Cure” collection will benefit The Peckham Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders at Rady Children’s Hospital – San Diego. The Peckham Center is home to a full range of specialized cancer treatments and hematology services, as well as psychosocial resources, life-after-cancer programs and pace-setting clinical research. As a not-for-profit hospital that ranks among the top pediatric hospitals in the country, Rady Children's relies on philanthropy to continue to provide world-class care to more than 250,000 children each year.
Thank you!
As you may or may not know, I lost my brother in 2018 to suicide. Over the past few years since that tragic day, I’ve learned that struggles with mental health are far too common. In the United States, almost half of adults will experience a mental health illness during their lifetime. Yet the stigmas attached to them cause many of these people to suffer in silence, which can be debilitating and even deadly. This is why Mike & I continue to partner with the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) and help raise awareness for the many Americans who may feel alone in their struggles. You are NEVER alone.
